Hockey Checks Hunger Food Drive
Hockey Checks Hunger is an annual community service event where Huskies Hockey teams up with Beyond Hunger to fight food insecurity. Players, families, and supporters come together to collect and donate food, helping provide meals for local families in need. This event is a powerful reminder that teamwork extends beyond the ice—making a real impact in our community.
Sarah's Inn
OPRF Hockey is deeply committed to giving back to the community, exemplified by its ongoing partnership with Sarah’s Inn, a local organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic violence. Through fundraising efforts and volunteer initiatives, the Huskies actively contribute to Sarah’s Inn’s mission of providing critical services, advocacy, and education.

The Chicago Hornets Youth Sled Hockey
The Chicago Hornets are a Youth Sled Hockey team consisting of kids ages 5-20 who have physical disabilities yet are determined to play ice hockey. As almost all children do, they want the opportunity to participate in sports and feel the camaraderie of being part of a team. In some cases it’s not even to play hockey; for some, it is their only freedom outside a wheelchair or walker.
OPRF Huskies Hockey Club players were fitted with specially designed metal sleds and sticks to ‘level the playing field’ against a premier sled hockey club that sent two players to the Winter Paralympics in Sochi where the USA defeated Russia to bring home the gold. Advantage Hornets!
